About CalculatorHub
Free, accurate calculators built around the real financial, tax, and health questions Malaysians actually ask.
Our mission
CalculatorHub exists to fix a very specific problem: most online calculators that show up in Google search are written for an American or global audience, with formulas, tax brackets, and assumptions that simply don't apply in Malaysia. Search 'salary calculator' and you'll get one using US federal brackets. Search 'mortgage calculator' and you'll get one that ignores Malaysian MOT stamp duty, loan agreement stamp duty, and SPA legal fees. We built CalculatorHub because Malaysians deserve calculators that understand their own systems — EPF (KWSP), SOCSO, LHDN, Tabung Haji, PTPTN, ASB, TNB, and zakat — from the ground up rather than as an afterthought.
How we build each calculator
Every calculator goes through four stages before it ships. First, we write a spec that lists the user problem (e.g. 'What is my take-home pay after EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and income tax?'), the exact formula required, and the edge cases worth handling. Second, we write the formula in TypeScript and debug it against real figures from official LHDN/EPF/TNB calculations. Third, we write the bilingual long-form explanation, FAQs, and a worked example that explain what's happening behind the numbers — not just the final figure. Fourth, every calculator is wired into an automated smoke-test suite that runs on every deploy, so if a formula ever breaks we know before you do.
What sets us apart
- Malaysia-first, not Malaysia-bolted-on. 11% EPF, SOCSO's post-1 October 2024 wage ceiling change, LHDN tax brackets, tiered MOT stamp duty — all baked in, not retrofitted from a US template.
- Explanations that actually explain. Every calculator page includes 400–800 words of content explaining why the math works the way it does, common pitfalls, and edge cases.
- Genuinely bilingual. Every calculator, every FAQ, and every page is written in both English and Bahasa Melayu — not machine-translated.
- Official sources cited. Every calculator page cites the underlying source — LHDN, KWSP, TNB, BNM, PTPTN, or the relevant state zakat authority — so you can verify it yourself.
- Free, no paywall, no gating. We're compensated solely through non-intrusive display advertising. No subscriptions, no 'sign up to see the result', no usage caps.
Who's behind it
CalculatorHub is maintained by a small team of Malaysian software engineers and editorial writers. Our team spans TypeScript engineering and specific subject-matter expertise in Malaysian tax and lending, EPF retirement planning, and syariah-compliant finance (ASB, Tabung Haji, zakat). We've shipped product professionally at local fintech and SaaS companies for over a decade. We operate as a small remote team based out of Kuala Lumpur.
Our update commitment
Tax rates, tariff rates, and relief brackets change. EPF declares a new dividend annually. Tabung Haji publishes hibah in February. TNB's ICPT is revised every 6 months. We do a full editorial pass every quarter to ensure every calculator reflects current law and rates. Every calculator page shows a 'Last reviewed' date so you can see when it was last verified. When an authoritative source (e.g. the federal budget) announces changes, we aim to update within 14 days.
What we don't do
For transparency: we are not licensed tax consultants, not financial planners, not real-estate agents, not loan brokers. Our calculators provide estimates for personal planning only. For major financial decisions — buying a house, refinancing a loan, filing complex taxes — always consult a licensed professional or use the official LHDN/EPF/etc. e-services. We also do not store your calculator inputs or results; all computation happens in your browser and never reaches our servers.

Feedback, bug reports, or a new calculator request? We love hearing from users — it's how about half of the catalog was built. Reach us at hello@calculatorhub.my or via the contact page. For the full editorial methodology and sources, see our editorial standards page.
