About this calculator

In Malaysia, your monthly salary is reduced by several mandatory deductions before reaching your bank account. EPF (KWSP) takes 11% of your gross salary by default. SOCSO (PERKESO) takes about 0.5% and EIS takes another 0.2% — both based on actual wages since the RM5,000 wage ceiling was abolished on 1 October 2024. Income tax is calculated on your annual chargeable income — gross salary minus EPF (capped at RM4,000), personal relief (RM9,000), and other reliefs — using progressive tax brackets that range from 0% up to 30%. This calculator uses the LHDN brackets effective for the 2024 assessment year. The output is an estimate intended for personal planning; your actual PCB (monthly tax deduction) may differ slightly because LHDN's PCB schedule applies its own rounding rules and the SOCSO/EIS official tables round to RM5 wage bands.

Formula

Net = Gross − EPF − SOCSO − EIS − (Annual Tax / 12)

Example calculation

Example: RM6,000/month + RM6,000 bonus, single, RM2,500 lifestyle + RM1,500 medical insurance

Annual gross is RM78,000. Reliefs total RM17,000 — personal RM9,000 (auto), EPF capped at RM4,000 (auto), lifestyle RM2,500 (maxed), and medical insurance RM1,500 (RM1,500 of the RM3,000 cap still unused). Chargeable income is RM61,000 → 11% slab: RM1,500 base + RM11,000 × 11% = RM2,710/year. After EPF (RM660), SOCSO (RM30), EIS (RM12) and monthly tax (RM226), take-home is about RM5,072/month.
